Fat Analog Bass & Gritty Textures

Super Chunk is our take on thick, character-filled bass and synth tones that feel alive the moment you hit a key. Built around simple controls with a lot of personality, it’s designed to go from clean and tight to completely broken in seconds. Stack sub and chunk layers, shape the envelope, push the filter into drive, then get weird with ring modulation and vibrato. Add a bit of spring and tone shaping, and suddenly you’re somewhere between a vintage mono synth and a damaged tape machine that refuses to behave. Part of the SuperKeys series, focused on instruments that are fast, fun, and full of character.

Setup

Installation

Mac

  1. Open the .pkg installer.
  2. Accept the license agreement.
  3. Choose your plugin formats (VST3, AU, AAX and/or Standalone).
  4. Click Continue, enter your password and install.

Windows

  1. Open the .exe installer.
  2. Accept the license agreement.
  3. Choose your plugin formats (VST3, AAX and/or Standalone).
  4. Click Next → Install.

Activation

Registration

When you open the plugin for the first time you will see the registration screen.

Subscription

Includes all current and future plugins. Any new plugin you download activates without additional authorization.

Perpetual License

Lifetime access to the plugins you purchased. Does not include future plugin releases.

Offline Use: An internet connection is required to activate and run the plugin.

Sound Engine

Sounds and Envelope panels
Bite
Adds top-end aggression and presence.
Sub
Deep low-end weight for solid bass foundations.
Chunk
Midrange body and punch.
Octave Controls
Shape each layer independently via the per-channel octave selector.

Envelope

3 envelopes available: 1 for amplitude (main volume shaping) and 2 for modulation. The modulation menu appears when selecting a modulation envelope.
Attack
How quickly the sound reaches full level after a key is pressed.
Decay
How fast the level drops from peak down to the sustain level.
Sustain
The level held while the key is held down.
Release
How long the sound fades after releasing a key.

Filter, Ring Mod & Vibrato

Filter, Ring Mod, and Vibrato strip
Cutoff
Controls brightness by setting the filter frequency.
Resonance
Emphasizes frequencies around the cutoff for a sharper, more defined tone.
Drive
Adds saturation and harmonic distortion into the filter signal.
Ring Mod Pitch
Sets the frequency of the ring modulator oscillator.
Ring Mod Amount
Controls how much ring modulation is blended in.
Vibrato Rate
Controls the speed of pitch modulation.
Vibrato Depth
Controls the intensity of the pitch variation.

Assignable real-time controller for expressive modulation during performance.

Preset Browser

Clicking the preset name in the top bar opens the browser. It is the same preset system used across the new generation of Safari plugins, with folders, tags, favorites and search.

Troubleshooting

If something isn't working as expected, most issues are quick to resolve.

  1. Re-read the Setup section - something may have been missed during installation or activation.
  2. Double-check your DAW settings, plugin folder paths, and system compatibility.
  3. Restart your DAW and try loading the plugin again.
  4. Make sure your OS and DAW are up to date.
