Dirty Dog is not your typical reverb - it's a **distorted reverb powerhouse**, developed in collaboration with **11-time Grammy-winning producer & engineer Joe Chiccarelli** (The White Stripes, The Strokes, Morrissey, Little Dragon, The Killers). It blends **reverb, overdrive (pre & post), filters, and gating**, creating a **raw, aggressive, and dynamic** sound that adds **power and energy** to any track.

Setup

Installation

Windows

  1. Open the .exe installer.
  2. Accept the license agreement.
  3. Choose your plugin formats (VST3, AAX and/or Standalone).
  4. Click Next → Install.

Mac

  1. Open the .pkg installer.
  2. Accept the license agreement.
  3. Choose your plugin formats (VST3, AU, AAX and/or Standalone).
  4. Click Continue, enter your password and install.

Activation

Registration

When you open the plugin for the first time you will see the registration screen.

Subscription

Includes all current and future plugins. Any new plugin you download activates without additional authorization.

Perpetual License

Lifetime access to the plugins you purchased. Does not include future plugin releases.

An internet connection is required only for the first activation. After that the plugin works offline.

Features

Pre-Reverb Drive
Crank this to dirty up your signal before it hits the reverb. Great for getting gritty, blown-out textures that smear into the reverb tail.
Time
Contains sounds starting from a very tight room sound all the way to a lush long digital reverb sound.
High pass & low pass filters
Tailored to the sound of the units drive and reverb. Both can be turned on or off by clicking on the red light next to the drive knob.
Pre delay
Goes from 1ms to 130ms. Try using it to keep the dry signal a bit further from the dirty reverb signal.
Gate
A combination of 2 gates (Pre and post reverb). You can pick and choose which one to use or use both. The small red led will let you know when the audio is passing the threshold by blinking
Post-Reverb Drive
Adds saturation after the reverb. This thickens and distorts the entire space, making the reverb itself feel aggressive, crusty, and alive. Perfect for nasty ambiance or lo-fi walls of sound.
Over-Sampling
Avoid aliasing and maintain pristine audio quality.
Blend
The blend knob allows you to blend the reverb to taste with the dry signal
Output
Controls the final level of the processed (wet) signal leaving the plugin. Use it to match the reverb volume with your mix.

Troubleshooting

If something isn't working as expected, most issues are quick to resolve.

  1. Re-read the Setup section — something may have been missed during installation or activation.
  2. Double-check your DAW settings, plugin folder paths, and system compatibility.
  3. Restart your DAW and try loading the plugin again.
  4. Make sure your OS and DAW are up to date.
